ReplyDelete1. I thought that the tests have been reasonably challenging because there were some problems that I could not solve. The word problems were little hard to understand and change into a mathematical equations.
ReplyDelete2. I feel that I am adequately prepared for Mr. Jobe's tests because I study the day before for a good grade and sleep well so that my brain will function well.
3.My favorite part of the math class was the review questions because they were educational and fun. However, my least favorite part was of course, homework because it takes a lot of time and it is students' least favorite thing about school.
4. I think for this class so far, there is nothing to change.
1. The test was challenging, but not challenging at the same time. I think to make the test more challenging, there should be more word problems because they often confuse people with what signs to write.
ReplyDelete2. Yes because I have been studying and we always went over and over these questions for warm up and for homework, so everything on the test was there for homework. Therefore the I felt like I was prepared for the test. (We even did the review game for things that comes out in the test)
3. My favorite part was the review games because it helps you get better grades in math in a fun way.
My lest favorite part was the equations where you had to substitute the letters and the word problems because you have to write out another equations and if you are not careful and organized, I tend to get the questions wrong because of the signs.
4. To improve this class, I think we should do the same amount of class work and homework, but more review games because they make me have fun and at the same time memorize and work more quickly with the problems
1. Do you feel like the tests have been reasonably challenging? If they are challenging to you, what makes them challenging? If they are not challenging to you, what types of problems would make them more challenging?
ReplyDeleteI feel that the tests have been reasonably challenging as you said. From this test the word problems could have been challenging for me. This is because it has a lot of different words you don't need to use, so it is confusing.
2. Do you feel like you have been adequately prepared for these tests by Mr. Jobe? Explain why or why not.
Yes, I have this is because we always practiced in class after we learned that section. An before we had our test we even did a game that had all the problems that were needed for the test.
3. What has been your favorite part about math class so far? What has been your least favorite part?
My favorite part was the game. An my least favorite part was the test.
4. What suggestions do you have to improve this class?
I don't think we need to improve this class.(?)
1. Some of question was challenging. Because some of them was the parts not i was not good at. but for the most part i think it was not really challenging.
ReplyDelete2. Yes, because in the class we were reviewing a lot and there was lot of practice problems and we went over the questions that classmates didn't quite understand.
3. My favorite part about the class so far was that we did videos for the properties. And usually by just text book it is hard to understand. And the least favorite part about the class was equations with so many negative signs. It made my brain to get confused.
4. I think this class is so far so good. But to improve more i think we need to practice more together.
1. I think the test has been okay so far, and had quite challenging word problems. It might not be a problem for other people but I found it challenging converting english words in to math equations. I don't recommend the test needs to be more challenging.
ReplyDelete2. I think I have been prepared, because we had gone over homework problems and reviewed last class.
3. My favorite part in math class was watching the property videos that the other groups made, which made me clearly informed and understandable about the property. On the other hand my least favorite part was taking a test, which makes me anxious of making mistakes.
4. I think watching funny math-related videos would improve this class, because I really thought that watching the property videos were helpful for me.
1.Test was challenging because I didn't understand and go t confuse by few word problem with lots of information.

ReplyDelete1. I felt like the test so far was a little bit challenging because of the word problem. I think it was because word problem have so many information that isn't needed and it is sort of complicating.
ReplyDelete2. Yes, because of the game we played for reviewing.
3. The favorite part in this class was playing different kinds of game to review for the test. However, taking quiz and tests were my least favorite part of math class.
4. Some suggestions to improve our class is to participate more and have more class time to do homework and class work so that we can ask more questions during class time.
1. Do you feel like the tests have been reasonably challenging? If they are challenging to you, what makes them challenging? If they are not challenging to you, what types of problems would make them more challenging?
ReplyDeleteI think the tests were not that challenging except the bonus question because I didn't study the properties yet. Even though the questions were not that challenging, they were questions that I might have made mistakes on because there are so many negatives and brackets, which makes me sort of confused. To make the test more challenging, I think there should be harder equations that would make people feel confused if they didn't study hard enough.
2. Do you feel like you have been adequately prepared for these tests by Mr. Jobe? Explain why or why not.
I think the I was well prepared by Mr. Jobe because we did a lot of practices and review games.
3. What has been your favorite part about math class so far? What has been your least favorite part?
My favorite part about math class so far was watching the properties videos because it was really fun to learn the properties by a video. My least favorite part was doing homework ):
4. What suggestions do you have to improve this class?
I don't have any suggestions to improve this class because it's good so far.
1. Do you feel like the tests have been reasonably challenging? If they are challenging to you, what makes them challenging? If they are not challenging to you, what types of problems would make them more challenging?
ReplyDeleteI think the tests were just right for me. Not too challenging, and not too easy. Though, I sometimes feel that I struggle with the word problems a little bit, but I think the only way to fix that problem is to just read over the problem over and over again, and try to understand it. A test, is a test, so I guess it's never too easy.
2. Do you feel like you have been adequately prepared for these tests by Mr. Jobe? Explain why or why not.
I do think that I have been adequately prepared for these test by Mr. Jobe because I don't think that I have had such serious problems with each question, and I tried my best to answer all of them instead of leaving them blank. Mr. Jobe helped me a lot for tests by letting the class take notes, and having review classes.
3. What has been your favorite part about math class so far? What has been your least favorite part?
My favorite part about math class so far was that we get to have review periods before every test, and we got to work in groups and partners to sometimes answer math problems, so that helped me a lot for tests. My least favorite part about math class was that sometimes we have to solve problems really fast, and I have to try to follow everyone...
4. What suggestions do you have to improve this class?
Some suggestions I have to improve this class is that we can wait for everyone to finish taking notes so that everyone can review them at home while studying for a test, instead of rushing to move on to the next one. Maybe we can choose partners for review classes too. :D
3. Yes I think Mr. Jobe prepared us to do good on the test because he gives us study time and review games.
ReplyDelete1. I think that the tests have been reasonably challenging because there was a good balance of both short and long problems , and hard and easy problems.
ReplyDelete2. Yes, I think I have been adequately prepared for Mr. Jobe's test because Mr. Jobe always goes over the answers in class for the one I don't know.
3. My favorite part so far was watching the properties videos because then I could visually understand the different types of properties.I really don't have a least favorite part but if I had to choose one it would be taking tests. No one likes taking tests and I always get sleepy when taking a test. Also, I often make careless mistakes.
4. I suggest doing more fun review games because if the games are fun,the students have more motivation to try and get the answers right.
PART ONE
ReplyDelete1. Do you feel like the tests have been reasonably challenging? If they are challenging to you, what makes them challenging? If they are not challenging to you, what types of problems would make them more challenging?
I hope you don't consider my opinions in making changes in the actual tests, but I'll just state several points on the tests that we took. Yes, the tests have been reasonably challenging, because we had to think deeply through the mathematical concepts, and use them correctly with the right numbers. Of course, the questions weren't all easy, they all needed a decent amount of algebraic knowledge to figure out these tricky questions. There are frequently some problems where the question looks simple, but actually contains a trick in it. The tricks could be either a single word that changes the whole question, or a confusing phrase (expression) within the problem to make us tricked. These are challenging, because no matter how much you studied, these problems can easily tackle you.
2. Do you feel like you have been adequately prepared for these tests by Mr. Jobe? Explain why or why not.
Last year in Pre-Algebra, I honestly thought we had an abundant time period to review and study in class. However, things weren't the same this school year. The concepts are swooshing behind me, and if I miss a class, I would be way behind in the process for the test. In conclusion, we would have to use more of our own time to study for the tests, compared to last year. I personally think Mr. Jobe prepares us for the test adequately, because he's doing getting the most review time out of 1 hour and 15 minutes. I understand that this course has a planned schedule throughout the year, and we need to stick to the overall speed. So, we won't be able to have 4 classes only reviewing the chapter. Mr. Jobe is preparing us well, and the rest is actually up to our decisions.
1. Do you feel like the tests have been reasonably challenging? If they are challenging to you, what makes them challenging? If they are not challenging to you, what types of problems would make them more challenging?
ReplyDeleteI think that the test questions have been at the perfect level for a test. The questions that made the test hard were the word problems and some complicating equation problems.
2. Do you feel like you have been adequately prepared for these tests by Mr. Jobe? Explain why or why not.
I think that I was fairly prepared, but not fully prepared. Mostly because I didn't think the bonus questions would be about some of the properties, I had a hard time solving the bonus questions.
3. What has been your favorite part about math class so far? What has been your least favorite part?
I think that the review 'game' was my favorite part, because solving questions weren't so bad competing for the prize. However, my least favorite would be... homework that requires a lot of time and more thinking than I usually do for a problem.
4. What suggestions do you have to improve this class?
I don't have much suggestions, but I think that we should try to get answers from every student when the teacher, Mr. Jobe, asks a question to all the students.
PART TWO
ReplyDelete3. What has been your favorite part about math class so far? What has been your least favorite part?
Despite the fact that Mr. Jobe is letting us enjoy Algebra class very much, I also personally have favorite parts and unfavorable parts. One of my favorite parts about this course is working in groups when solving (or even checking) work that we did. It doesn't really matter on who the group members are, it really matters how they are discussing the subject. I like this part the most, because I can learn more than just listening to Mr. Jobe, and share different ideas on various ways to solve a problem. We also can freely help a friend that's having a difficult time, and make sure that our group is understanding the concepts well. On the other hand, I honestly don't have a part that I hate, but one part that I don't really love is the homework. I realize that practicing more makes us much more used to the mathematical concepts, but I assume we all have other homework assignments, too. So, the one part that I dislike is the amount of homework. In my opinions, I think a few difficult problems are more efficient than numerous easy problems.
4. What suggestions do you have to improve this class?
Although the all the classes are great to learn in, there would be a few suggestions that I could point out during classes. One major suggestion out of them would be the part where we're reviewing homework or classwork. Whenever Mr. Jobe teaches us in class, we review overall as a class, and don't focus on specific people. For example, a student might not exactly understand a concept of their work, but is not asking the question in public because they're not forced to. The suggestion would be working in groups, rather than alone. When working in groups, we can notice numerous advantages, as explained before. First, the student can freely ask their friends on the question's process of solving, and learn all together. Also, it's fairly more entertaining than sitting alone and correcting your work as a teacher is talking to us. It will be friendly, approachable, and also efficient.
Thanks for the input, guys. I really appreciate your honesty and the thoughtfulness you put into answering these questions. Feedback is vital for a successful class. Something tells me that this is going to be a great year...

ReplyDelete1. Do you feel like the tests have been reasonably challenging? If they are challenging to you, what makes them challenging? If they are not challenging to you, what types of problems would make them more challenging?
ReplyDeleteI think the test were reasonably challenging. Even though the tests are a short length the problems that are given are challenging. The problems given in the test can be hard to understand since we've reviewed the whole chapter and we would be able to understand the algebra in the chapter. Some challenging problems on the test were the world problems because some of the problems I hard understanding with and I couldn't set up a equation.
2. Do you feel like you have been adequately prepared for these tests by Mr. Jobe? Explain why or why not.
I think I was fairly prepared for the tests, I think Mr.Jobe does a great job reviewing for us instead of reviewing by ourselves at home and every time I didn't understand a problem then Mr.Jobe would be always ready to explain the problem. These little things prepares me for the test, but reviewing at home as well would be a good idea too.
3. What has been your favorite part about math class so far? What has been your least favorite part?
My favorite part of this class is that now during Class Work we can work with our friends and discuss about problems instead of discussing in a awkward with a class mate I barely know. Its much more comfortable discussing with a well known friend. Honestly theres nothing I hate about this class, but one thing that bothers me is when I forget my text book. Last year in Pre-Algebra we would use the online text book, so it make me confusing.
4. What suggestions do you have to improve this class?
Like last year in Pre-algebra I was distracted easily, but this year I try my best to listen in class and concentrate. When I don't understand a concept in algebra then like always what Mr.Jobe suggests I can go up during lunch and ask Mr.Jobe.
1. It felt little bit challenging, because there was more word problem then i thought.
ReplyDelete2. I think that i didn't prepare for test, because i didn't get the answers right what i thought i would.
3. My favorite part about Math class was that we played games. It was good for education and fun.
My least favorite part was that you pass the lesson too fast.
4.Slow up the lesson, and more practice
1. Do you feel like the tests have been reasonably challenging? If they are challenging to you, what makes them challenging? If they are not challenging to you, what types of problems would make them more challenging?
ReplyDelete- I think the tests have been reasonably challenging because there were some difficult questions, but also easy questions. If there were more complicated equations it would have been a more challenging.
2. Do you feel like you have been adequately prepared for these tests by Mr. Jobe? Explain why or why not.
-I feel like I have been adequately prepared for the tests by Mr.Jobe because in class, his explanations of chapters were easy to understand.
3. What has been your favorite part about math class so far? What has been your least favorite part?
- My favorite part of math class was the review game, because although the questions were challenging, it was fun to work with your parter along with works. My least favorite part of class was some of the classwork.
4. What suggestions do you have to improve this class?
- I think we should concentrate in class more, and also after class we should ask questions that we didn't understand.
I feel like the test have been reasonably challenging because some of the equations were long to simplify. However it was able to solve it and I don't think its that hard
ReplyDeleteI feel like I have been adequately prepared for these test by Mr.Jobe because he told us whats kind of questions were going to be in the test and he also gave us review time which helped alot
My favorite part about math class so far was when we did the review because first of all it helped me for the test and also I felt good when I got the answer correct. My least favorite part of math class so far was when we took the test because it makes me nervous and worried.
I don't think we have anything to improve this class so far.
I think the tests we took so far, that covered chapters 1 and 2, were reasonably challenging because of several reasons. The problems might have been easy to solve, but to figure out the right formulas and to use them correctly required some thinking. Questions that just asked us to solve an equation were easy, however questions that gave us information, like word problems, made me to think before I actually went and solved them. I had to be careful because there might have been information that were just there to trick me. Those little tricks can take points away no matter how much I studied the algebraic concepts and everything. Therefore, I think adding more word problems or other problems that require thinking would make the tests more challenging and allow the students to think more deeply at the same time.
ReplyDeleteThis year, math class have been the fastest compared to my previous math classes. I can't imagine what would happen to me if I missed a class; I would be way behind others. I think I have been adequately prepared for the tests by Mr. Jobe because his time management during class was fantastic. We never wasted time doing other stuffs that weren't related to class. We only spent one class period with no homework to review through everything we learned in the chapter. I thought this was very neat because last year my teacher (I will not mention who) required the students to solve all the questions in the "chapter review" section of the textbook for review. My teacher just went over what will be on the test and didn't really go over the sections in the chapter. Therefore, I think Mr. Jobe, who has the ability to teach and entertain his students at the same time, has prepared me adequately for the tests.
