Jeong soo and Sun- pyo are raising puppies. They originally had 10 dogs. One month later, Jeong soo and Sun pyo had 40 puppies. They bought puppies that are grouped into three packs for an unknown amount, four times this month. However, 10 of the puppies received death. They ended up having 42 puppies. What is the unknown amount in one pack?

We thought that using puppies for your problem was a unique idea because usually, lots of people think of food and people. The story you came up with was good, but we think that you should connect the story to one thing. Like instead of saying that Jeong soo and Sun pyo bought puppies grouped into three packs for an unknown amount, four times that month, you should've connected it to how Jeong soo and Sun pyo had 40 puppies. But instead, you should've just mentioned that each person had a certain amount of puppies. Example: Jeong soo had 40 puppies and Sun pyo had 4 puppies and bought an unknown amount of puppies filled in a closed box.

We agree with Noella and Edward about using puppies for your problems; we thought it was unique too. However, we both had some trouble figuring out the equation just by reading your word problem. We think it would be easier for people to understand if you worded the problem a bit differently. For example, you can change "Jeongsoo and Sunpyo had 40 puppies. They bought puppies that are groupd into three packs for an unknown amount, four times this month." to "Jeongsoo and Sunpyo bought 3 packs of puppies when they already had 10 puppies at home. After a month, the number of the puppies increased 4 times than before and 10 of them died."Also, we thought that using two different people's names is not really necessary and writing "died" instead of "received death" would sound better.

Using puppies for this problem was really cute and kind of got us engaged because we kind of wanted to know what happened to the puppies. However, you guys used dogs, and then puppies so we were wondering what happened to the dogs... Also, using two different peoples' names got a bit confusing, it would have been better if it was one person. And although it was kind of sad to see the puppies die, using death as "minus" or "negative" was very creative.

Jeongsoo is raising dogs. He originally had 10 dogs. He bought three packs of puppies, which puppies are packed into an unknown amount, for four months. Also, his 10 dogs each gave birth to 4 puppies. But the mother dogs died. As a result, Jeongsoo has 42puppies.

Also, his 10 dogs each gave birth to 3 puppies, which made the number of dogs to become 40 including the mother dogs . But the mother dogs all died. As a result, Jeongsoo has 42puppies. How many puppies were packed into each packs?

Also, his 10 dogs each gave birth to 3 puppies, which made the total number of dogs to multiply by 4. But the mother dogs all died. As a result, Jeongsoo has 42puppies.
