At Andrew Nelson’s birthday, Andrew went to a luxurious karaoke room to sing with his best friends, John Park and Seung-yoon Kang. They first decided to sing for an hour and go out play basketball, but because they became obsessed, they decided to stay for another hour. Because the owner of the karaoke was deeply touched by John’s deep, sweet voice, he discounted one dollar from the total price. Also because those three generous kids wanted to be fair, they divided the total price in to three, so that everyone could pay the same amount of money. If they each paid five dollars, how much did they pay for an hour?
We think your word problem is very easy to follow. We liked how you used names from Super Star K2; it was very unique. We also liked the way how you guys came up of dividing the price by making the characters dutch pay. However, we thought your problem could have been better if you just wrote the numbers in real numbers...like $5 instead of five dollars; we thought that would make it easier for the reader to organize the information.
This word problem was very easy to understand because it was simple but engaging because you guys used a very interesting topic. Also, we thought it would have made more sense if you guys wrote" he gave them a one dollar discount" or something. Overall, we didn't find any mistakes and it was very good.
This word problem was interesting in terms of using creative characters and easy to understand. Since I couldn't find any mistakes on the word problem, I thought that the word problem was very good.
