I feel excited, worried, and nervous.
I am excited to learn but worried that the materials might be too complicated or something I'm not familiar to. I am also nervous because final is coming up!!!

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
7th graders who wanted to pass Algebra next year should be ready. Algebra get harder than what people think. Unlike Pre-Algebra, there are more new materials, complicated problems. But if you do your hw and understand the concept, your life will be much comfortable. If you want to pass algebra, practice the problems, review and make sure you go over what you did wrong in a quiz/hw/test. Also you can make silly mistakes so make sure you always double check your work.

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
I think I will work hard until the end even thought I might be tired because I have to learn it anyways and more you know the better. I will double check my work even homework and ask more question about things I might not understand.

    1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.
    1) nervous
    2) happy (that it's almost over)
    3) excited

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
I would tell them just to listen everyday in class and follow what the teacher's doing in order to get good grades. Also, do all the warm up problems because they remind you of what you did last class and always ask questions (during class over after) about things you don't know.
    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
I'll work hard till the end because first, I need to raise my grade. Second, I'd like to end Algebra 1 with a clean finish ;) I'd like to try and finish all my homework during class or right after I get home rather than push it to the last minute, because usually, if I do that, I forget what I'm supposed to do. Also, I'd like to always remember to bring my materials because sometimes I forget that I need to bring grid paper.

    1. tiring, surprised, fun

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
    2. Even though these things are what we learned in pre-algebra but algebra is lot more challenging, but u might find them interesting. algebra we will do lot more about learn using many chart, working with word problems, two variables, graphing, than in 7th grade. It might be tiring but once you get a hook of it you will find it very easy and interesting.

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
    3. I think i will keep working hard, because i have been trying my best through out the year, why not just a little bit more effort. i will do homework not the day before the class, and i will try speeding up my work rate.

    1. There are many adjectives to describe my feelings right now. However, if I were to pick three of them, I would say sad, happy, and relaxed. You might think that I'm weird for being sad and happy at the same time, but there are reasons for it. First of all, I'm sad to be almost at the end of my algebra course. I'll definitely miss this class next year. But on the other side, I'm also happy to think that after this I'll be in high school and learn more interesting stuffs about math. And finally, I'm relaxed that this point because it is almost the end of the year and I'm not that stressed out like I did before ("OMG I'm going to mess my test up!").

    2. If I were to give some advice to the current 7th graders about algebra, I would tell them to don't be pressured about learning 8th grade math. If they paid enough attention in class this year and tried their best, I'm sure they'll also do fine next year in their algebra classes. However, I would also tell them to not underestimate algebra because there will be things that will confuse them at one point.

    3. I think I'll work hard until the end of the year. It is our last year in middle school and I don't want my last year to be sloppy at the end. But at the same time, I would also be a little bit relaxed because now I'm used to this algebra course. Therefore the two things I would definitely do now are enjoying math(rather than being pressured about my grades) and making memorable memories in this class before the end of this year.

    1. exciting, awesome, fantastic
    2. I would give an advice to work on more calculation over the summer break because in Algebra 1 especially factoring there is going to be a lot of calculating parts.
    3. I would work hard until the end because if I give up at the end my grade would fall down and I would forget some of the stuff that I learned previously. I am going to raise my grade up more and more. The two thing I will do is doing all the bonus worksheets or problems that Mr. Jobe gives, and also I am going to solve problems more carefully.

  6. 1.excited,worried,depressed

2.If i were to give some advice to the upcoming 7th graders, I would advice them to listen to the teacher when he or she is explaining about the chapter because sometimes teachers give hints or shortcuts that could help you. Also, i would advice 7th graders to review the sections learned before the test because, although you feel like you know everything, when you look at the test paper, there are questions that you might be uncomfortable with. To avoid this situation i recommend 7th graders to review all sections including section 1.

3.I will work hard until the end because i am not satisfied with my work for semester 1&2. First of all, i will change my studying style for the upcoming math final. I will first review the whole book and backup my memories. Second, i will pick chapters that i am not comfortable with and from those chapters, will pick 20 questions and make myself comfortable with. Finally, this time i will sleep early before the test in order for me to concentrate during the test.

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
I would warn 7th grader that there would be lots of complicated and hard solution so they need to take good note and, also tell them to bring graphing paper and ruler because there is lot of drawing to do,

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
I will work until the end because if I give up in the middle all the effort I put on will go to waste I will always look back at the work I did and study more and take note much carefully write everything down.

  8. One chapter left. One quiz left. Then the final. You're almost there!

    1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.
Three adjectives that describe how I am feeling are anxious, excited, and tense. I am anxious because of the final that is coming up for math, and that I would have to know all the chapters that we have gone through during the whole semester. Also, I am anxious because I would have to work on other finals and would have to try to work on math in between as well. I am excited because it is getting closer to summer break! I finally want to relax and go on vacation with my family. There are so many things that we have planned, so I want get to them quickly. I feel tense because next school year, I am going to high school. So the pressure is on me.

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
Some advice or warnings I would like to give to the upcoming 7th graders is that they are going to a higher level, so the amount and difficulty of work is going to increase, and that they are going to be the oldest middle schoolers now. Therefore, they will have to be more responsible. I suggest them to ask lots of questions to their teachers if they have trouble on something, because that helped me A LOT! :)

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
I will try to work hard until the end of the school year, because if I don’t all my hard work for the whole year would come to be a waste. Also, I would like to have good results. I wouldn’t want to ruin my grades at the last moment. The two things I would like to do differently from what I have done all year is trying to finish my homework if I have the opportunity in class, and to make shorter notes.

most of you guys took pre- algebra. however, you can't play around when taking algebra because they're quite challenging. your knowledge from pre- algebra can be a huge help for the algebra. but study harder and listen to teacher more.

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
i will work hard until the end because it feels so good when you achieve your goal especially a hard goal. the two things that i will do differently next year are i'm going to not stop doing my work and lay it out just because im tired. also im going to review the works everyday, not study the day before the test day.

  10. Q) Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.
    A) Surprised, happy, sad. Surprised that the school year is almost over, happy that the Everland trip is coming up soon, and sad that next year, everything will change!
    Q) If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
    A) I think my advice would be to just pay attention in class, and if you don’t understand, ask anything you don’t know to the teacher. It would be great if you study Algebra before you come to Algebra class, but I don’t think it is really necessary because listening in class is enough. Also, it would be a good idea to review your lessons when you get home, so that you know all the things you learned well. If you do that, you don’t have to study the night before the test and stay up really late because you already know everything. The night before, you can just go over your notes, or study a part that you don’t understand that well.
    Q) Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
    A) I’ll work hard until the end, because if I don’t work hard until the end of the school year, it would feel kind of... weird. Also, because I want to start Geometry with all of Algebra studied. One thing I will do differently is, I will study for the final early because last year, I didn’t study for the final and I didn’t get a very good grade. Another thing I will do differently is, I will try to make my work faster because I’m not a very fast solver. I’ll try a lot of problems so that my work is faster.

  11. 1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.
    - tired - nervous - satisfied

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
I would warn them to bring all the supplies and do their homework. I would give them advices such as listening during class, taking neat notes, doing all the classwork, and asking question if they have any. By asking questions, the teacher will explain it to you and you will be getting all the questions you have.

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
I will work hard until the end because I don't want to mess up my grade and from working hard, in the end, you will achieve something that is important. The difference between them is that when you give up because you're tired, you will regret because you were almost there getting the goal, but have failed, just because you are tired and you will someday, regret.

    To: 7th grader

Being Good at Math is hard, but If you study hard it will be not hard for you :D . Anyway some of you will say that Math is hard and boring, enjoy math. "If you can't avoid enjoy." Like this quote You will never get rid of Math in your life. Its better to enjoy solving Mathematical problems than solving problems with a lot of complain.

To get good grades in Math you should do the following three. Preparation of lesson, reviewing lesson, and concentrating in class. If you do the following three, I promise that you will get least A-.

preparation of class-It is always better to look a lesson ahead like 30 minutes. Read the chapter that you will take next class, and look some examples and solve few questions. Then fully engage in your class, the mathematical memory will stay longer.

reviewing of class-Review what you just learned right after you get to home after math class. The mathematical memory will stay longer.

concentrate in class-70% of test comes from what teacher says during class. If you concentrate in your math class, and do what your teacher says. You will get least 70%.

By Preparing lesson about 30 minutes concentrating in class, reviewing, and lastly do your homework will make you to spend at least 1hour and a half a day which is good for you. Follow these pattern everyday you will get least A- on test. However just doing these 3 patterns is not full, you still have to study for quiz and test.

For the upcoming 7th grade, I think they should pay attention in class, because everything is very important. Also, I think that they should alway ask question, if they don't understand. If not the teacher will think that they understand it, but they actually don't. I think that doing homework is also important, because homework is practicing what you learned, so I think it is important.

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
I will try my best, because the school is almost over, and I have to raise my grades. So I will try my best, even if the result doesn’t follow, I will keep work hard as possible.

  14. 1. This year has been a year of various experiences and tasks. If I were to choose three adjectives, I’d choose “satisfied”, “depressed”, and “remorseful”. First the reason to why I chose “satisfied” would be because I know from myself that I tried my best. As the year is starting to end, I begin to have the feeling that time is literally running out, and all the past efforts in numerous assignments are coming to an end. This also made me depressed, hence my second adjective. I chose “depressed” because it’s true that I’m downhearted due to the fact that this year is about to be over. I’ll try my best for the rest, but I just can’t believe that the course of Algebra will end soon. Finally, I chose “remorseful” because of a few reasons. For all those tests and assignments which I could’ve received a better score, I didn’t concentrate enough in class to fulfill all the points provided. The past is already set and cannot be altered, so I’m feeling a bit regretful. However, the only way to improve further more throughout High School would be to learn from the past.

    2. There would be an innumerable number of tips and advices, but I’ll paraphrase them into shorter words. First of all, I’d recommend all potential 8th graders to simply focus in class. It’s simply the best way to score higher in other assignments. All tests are completely based on what we cover in class, so it’s logical to simply listen to the teacher meticulously. If there are any sophisticated terms or laws of mathematics, definitely jot them down on your notebook. Second, work on all the homework assignments by yourself. Yes, it can be sometimes infuriating, not able to solve a single problem for 10 minutes. However, simply looking up solutions or yelling for help from math tutors will not be an option, if you’re seeking for deep knowledge. That is, if you solve a difficult problem alone, you will find the key to the solution easily next time a similar question pops up. Although this is such a cliché phrase, work hard until you get the answer. Just believe in your hidden abilities.

    3. I’ll surely work hard until the definite end. As a direct comparison, running quickly in a race until the last few yards and then walking slowly until the finish line would be useless. Even though I wouldn’t change anything radical from the past year, I would still alter a few aspects of my habits. First, I would turn off all other subjects’ work when I’m concentrating on mathematics. This has been a problem, where I’m often thinking about chemistry, when I’m solving inequalities. Next time I’ll just close down all other windows. Second, I should look at the clock more frequently when I’m taking a chapter test. When I’m focused on a single problem, I forget to glance at the time and waste tons of time on a single problem. I should remind myself every 10 minutes to take a look at the clock on my upcoming test.

  15. One chapter left. One quiz left. Then the final. You're almost there!

    1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.
    - I feel nervous, proud, and happy, The reason why I feel nervous is because I'm worried if the next chapter would be hard. If there are word problems, I always feel nervous because of the words that make me confuse. I even feel proud that my classmates and I finished 10 chapters very quickly. Lastly, I feel happy that 8th grade is almost over and all tests and quizzes that we need to take is almost over as well.

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
    - I would warn the upcoming 7th graders that they should be prepared to class, such as having all the materials ready. Also, I would give advices such as taking good notes in class, and complete all homework assignments on time. They need to pay attention in class because sometimes, the teacher tells a lot of questions that might come out in tests, or quizzes. Not only that, but if you have any troubles at any time, asking teacher is the best way to learn things.

Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
    - I will work hard until the end because if I give up because I’m tired, my grade will drop. The two things that I will do differently from what I did all year are that I will review all the questions that I got wrong and ask Mr. Jobe when I don’t understand things.

  16. 1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.
    - Three adjectives that would describe my feelings would be nervous, regretful, and fresh. I would say I am nervous because there are still upcoming tests for example finals. I feel regretful looking over my past tests, thinking of how I could of done better by not missing simple mistakes and preparing for the test. I feel fresh about how I got done with the Algebra math unit.
If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
    - First of all you have to focus very hard during class, since everything that we cover in class is written on the test. Secondly if you have any struggles on any part listen to Mr.Jobe and go up during lunch, going up during lunch will give you a great understanding of the part. Thirdly before a up coming math test always sleep at a reasonable time. Sleeping late and studying for the test will not do any better, but distract your concentration during the test.

Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
    - I will work as hard as I can until the end because If I give up on the finals then after all the effort I put in, it will just result as a waste. Some disturbing habits that I had this year were multi tasking and a little review on my work. For multi tasking I would need to turn off all programs that are not necessary for the subject I am working on. In order for more review I would need to fix my multi tasking habit. Fixing this habit will help me concentrate on one subject.

  17. 1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.
Three adjectives that describes how I'm feeling would be exhausted, anxious, but excited. It is normal for me that I always feel like these ways at the end of the year, due to the large amount of work we've covered(not only in math but in other subjects too) and the pressure that I get to succeed and excel in finals to accelerate my grades. However I feel excited to work towards the end of the year, especially the upcoming summer vacation and going into high school.

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?
If I were to give advice to the 7th graders, I would warn them to remember " the due dates are always closer than they think". I think that middle school was all about time management and organization. Although mac books are convenient in several ways, they can also be an obstacle to their studies, by fascinating features such as internet and computer games. Instead of waiting for the last minute of a project or a test, they should write down the lists of what they should do and accomplish it.

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
I will work hard until the end, so that the grades that I tried to raise throughout the year won't be wasted, and that I would regret my laziness in the future. To prepare for the finals, I would try to reduce my free time of idly wasting time on my macbook. As a result, I would be able to complete my homework faster, and have more time to study for the upcoming finals. Second, I would try to ask more questions and concepts that I don't understand to my teachers during my free time. So far, I haven't really tried to find them to ask certain things, mostly because I felt embarrassed. Instead, I either asked my friends, or memorized the whole concept without really understanding it for the test. However, now that I realized understanding the concept in the most important thing, I would try to visit my teachers more often.

I think that I would warn them about the difference between all real numbers and no solution. Even though it might be easy, I had a hard time figuring out how to solve them. Also, I would tell them to stay focused in class so that they won’t get confused during a test.
    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?

Some advice to the upcoming 7th graders, are maybe to study the 8th grade math before you start class after break. It might be kinda hard for you at first, but if you get the hang of it it just might become interesting and easier for you to do. You will use larger numbers and they might confuse you so be careful with your numbers!

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
I will work hard until the end. I will do this because I don't want to get my grade lower, and its the end of the year. I also think that I should do the extra worksheets that you give us for extra credit. Because it is not homework, I always forget about it and not do it.

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to the upcoming 7th graders, what would it be?

For the upcoming 7th graders, I would warn them that Algebra is not the subject that they can roughly look over. They would not be able to understand and improve on math in high school, because Algebra is the base of math. I would also like to inform them to always concentrate when the teacher is teaching them a new lesson. If they don't focus, they are going to have difficulties when they are doing their homework. Furthermore, they should always be responsible for their work. For instance, when they are doing a group project, they should always divide the work equally. Lastly, they should always ask the teacher if they do not understand some concepts of the lesson. It is always important to make sure that they fully understood the lesson.

    3. Will you work hard until the end, or give up because you're tired? Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year?
    - I would certainly work hard until the end because I have worked hard until now, and if I give up because I'm simply tired, the hard works that I have done would be useless. From now on, I would participate actively in class. Until now, I did not ask the teacher despite that I did not understand some concepts, hence I had some difficulties. Moreover, I would preview, review, and prepare for class. Even though I might be confident in some sections, I would still review the problems and solve many problems that I can possibly do.
